Holiday Safety Prevention Tips

The month of December is an extremely busy time of the year, rushing around holiday shopping, working and attending holiday events can cause us to drop our guard. The holiday season is a special time of the year. You can never be too careful, too prepared or too aware. Please share this information with your friends and family.


  • Avoid driving alone or at night.
  • Keep all car doors locked, do not leave your keys in the car.
  • Do not leave packages in your car that are visible from the outside.
  • Ask mall or store security for an escort to your vehicle if you are leaving a store alone.
  • If you use an ATM chose one located near a police station, or well lighted area.
  • Limit the number of credit cards you carry. Only bring the ones you are using for the days shopping.
  • Even though you are rushed stay alert.
  • Make sure you get your credit card back after ever purchase.
  • Keep a list in a safe place at home with all your credit card numbers listed, along with the telephone numbers to report them stolen.
  • Leave a radio or television on at home when you leave.
  • Do not leave large displays of gifts where they can be seen from outside your home.
  • Find alternate transportation if you are or a guest are intoxicated. 
  • Don’t drink and drive
