Lee Co. school gangs 'basically unorganized'
After a double homicide involving a Fort Myers High School student, deputies added extra patrols at the school as a show of force. They did it to make sure both students and parents saw them.
Just last week, the sheriff's office met with the Lee County School Board about gangs in public high schools.
That threat has been something the NBC2 Investigators have been digging into over the past few months.
Monday, we got an exclusive interview with the man in charge of identifying and eradicating those gangs.
"The Tat Boys, the Lake Boys, ABM, Palmetto Boys, PJ's Boys and the B-Town Goons - the B stands for Bonita," said Patrick Hayhurst, Lee County School Security Director, as he listed off the gangs that the sheriff's office has identified in Lee County schoolsThat threat has been something the NBC2 Investigators have been digging into over the past few months.
